Goodbye Scrapbooks

My friend came up with this really cool idea that I think needs sharing.

It is the end of our compulsary education soon, and although I am part of a very close group of seven friends, we will all be going our seperate ways. One of my friends said we should all get plain books, decorate them and the take lots of photos to fill them up with, and all write a comment for eachother.

We also all said it would be cool if we all made eachother something small that we can stick in the books, so the artists will draw pictures and i will sit for three days trying to work out what i can make everyone.

I will make sure to put up the finished product as i love to share my friends talents :)

Pen pal

Recently I got a new pen pal from France, and I think it’s really cool that I can learn about another culture and communicate with someone who is very different from me, and also get the chance to help her to learn the English language.

So yeah I don’t know what the point of this is, accept that we have lost touch with some of the traditional things we have done in the past. In England, the villages are twinned with villages in France, and in the past schools would exchange student, so you would go to stay with a French family, and a French child would come to stay with your family. So yeah we should keep in touch with people from around the world in more traditional ways.

The Avengers Assemble

This film is AMAZING! If given the chance to watch it GO!

For those of you who don't know what the film is about, a very basic plot would be that six superheros, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye, come together and put aside their differences to help save the planet Earth.

Superhero lovers, like my friends who i went with, will adore this film and all of the little references it makes to original movies the hero's have starred in. Even if you haven't seen the original movies, the film has a great easy to follow plot, great action, and a few moments of really funny humour.

So yes i would defiantly recommend this film to anyone and everyone, its just one of those films.

Sorry Rant Time

Okay i was really going to try not to do this sort of thing on this blog but then i figured, whats the point in having a blog that non of your friends know about if you cant use it.

I'm sure i have mention my ex boyfriend in a couple of posts and I'm fine (I'm not really but I'm starting to get over it) with the fact he just ended our relationship for no reason, when in the beginning it was him that followed me around like a lost puppy.

Even when i saw on his twitter he is constantly moaning that girls always go for the jerk and never nice guys like him, (which always makes me laugh because looking back on our relationship he was a bit of a jerk, ignoring me in front of his friends and then being very loving when no one could see) well i just got over it because he wasn't interested in me anymore, clearly.

Then came the short relationships with a few girls that dont exactly have the best reputations in the school (lets just say they don't wait for love) which did bug me because why would a guy give up a proper relationship for that sort of thing, and then moan about the fact girls always go for the guys that use them (hypocrite?)

Well i could have lived with all of that if i didn't just go on twitter and see what I'm pretty sure is him flirting with one of my best friends. Well she doesn't seem very interested, but i think i would find that way to awkward. Uhhh i feel like such a bad person for getting jealous at that.

Being good and Revising

In one month i have my final music exam, and I'm really bad at music so me and my friend have decided to spend this week revising and making a revision guide.

My problem with music isn't when it comes to playing the instrument (Keyboard), its the practical side which gets me 40% of a GCSE. 12 pieces of music you would never chooses to listen too, and we have to memories every musical point you can possibly make about it, and features of the time it came from for each of them!

Well anyway we both want to pass the class so we are soldiering on through the work one page of notes for each of them. Maybe i will pass the class, i cant imagine i will get my predicted A but hopefully i wont fail.

And i have just realised in 2 hours i have a keyboard lesson so I'm gonna go and learn how to play First Gymnopedie perfectly :/

Retaliation- A bad idea

A few days ago one of my friends were having a huge rant on twitter about something. I text her to make sure she was okay and she said she was just getting a bit angry about something, and that she was sure she would be fine later on. I then went on twitter to find her next tweet said so now you care whats wrong. Obviously my first reaction was that she was lying and that i had done something to upset her and i was caught between tweeting a cryptic dig back or texting her to ask what i had done, and in the end i decided to do neither and just hope it blows over.

The next day i was in my lesson with her and she came over to me and said sorry about yesterday she didn't want to get into it on the phone, and then told me that she had fallen out with her dad.

So i guess the morel of the story is you shouldn't read something and make assumptions and jump to a conclusion, because you can be wrong and it can cause a problem if you are.

Also...

Adding to my last thought, today it occurred to me how awkward it is for the boyfriend too, how he has to watch his parents wave at his ex girlfriend and say how much they used to like her knowing that either you broke her heart, or she broke yours. So sorry i didn't think of that sooner boys, promise I'm not sexist or something.

Why not to meet the parents

I'm not saying that you should never meet your boyfriends parents, in fact i think it can be a brilliant bonding experience, not necessarily the other way round as girls parents can be very protective but a boyfriends parents always seem to be welcoming to a girlfriend. The problem is when you break up.

I think if you are under twenty years old, its not likely that you will marry the guy and a break up will likely happen. When i first got together with my ex boyfriend i used to go to his house nearly all the time, and of course because of this i would see his parents a lot. They are really nice, i liked them straight away. Then his birthday came around and his dad asked me if i wanted to go out to dinner with them, and before that he would have a driving experience. I was really excited to spend time with them as part of the family, and whilst he was driving i spent two hours getting to know his parent. We talked about so much, and they even joked about getting him to but me an expensive birthday present. Afterwards we went out to dinner and the night ended very sweetly with him falling asleep on my shoulder.

Fast forward a month and he had broken up with me. The breakup was hard but I'm finally starting to get over him, the thing is his sister is a good friend of mine, so i still see his parents a lot, and every time they smile at me, and wave through the window of their car when they see me walking. Its really hard to respect the fact everything is over and then smile at his parents and listen to their stories.

Only Children A Blessing Or A Curse

I'm an only child myself but most of my friends have a sibling and a lot of the time they tell me how lucky i am and how spoilt only children are. If I'm honest i always felt the same way. As a child i would always tell my parents there was no way that i wanted them to have another kid, i totally wasn't interested. The idea of sharing annoyed me and in my head just like my friends said only children were so much luckier they got everything they wanted.

But as i got older i started to realise being an only child means you are the only one your parents can worry about, so whilst all of your friends are enjoying themselves going out shopping, i was sitting at home because my parents thought i was too young to be in the town centre without them. The thing is even through that i thought that the benefits outweighed the costs, i could still spend time with my friends and i still got everything i wanted.

Recently though i found the big downside, the one where i have started to realise that have a brother or sister isn't that bad. It makes you strong and it makes you appreciate what you have with them. Today my friend found out that her brother and his girlfriend are having a baby. Today she told me how excited she is that she is going to be an auntie and i realised that i never will be one. I can marry someone with brothers and sisters but i will never be a blood auntie.

Is being spoilt really worth the sacrifice of missing out on your family, of having those siblings that you can rely on when your grown up and needs someone to talk to, Ive decided probably not!

Who do you look up to?

Everyone has a role model. They might not be famous or even well-known and you might not even think of them as a role model, but everyone has a person that they can look at and think “I wish I could be more like that”. Maybe it’s because they are cool, or friendly or you like their style, or maybe its deeper and on a more emotional level because you love their personality and what they stand for.

Well whoever it is, and for whatever reason their names was the one you thought of when you read this I think it is very important to know and understand that this person is your role model because when you’re having a bad day, and feel like you need a bit of cheering up, its your role model that you should look to for help and guidance. If your role model is an actor, watch them in their best movie, if they’re a singer listen to some of their music, if it’s a you tuber watch some of their videos, and if it’s a person you know go and talk to them. If you tell them about your bad day, it’s bound to feel much better soon because there is a reason that it’s that person who you look up to.

So let me know, who do you look up to?

Age is just a number!

In today’s world everyone takes age so seriously. Young kids are so quick to grow up. You find that all teenagers want to do is finish school and be adults, but the thing they don’t realise is they are too quick.

When I was about eleven years old all of my friends decided they were too grown up to play with dolls anymore, but the truth was I didn’t want to get rid of mine, I still enjoyed playing with them and unlike my friends I wasn’t in a rush to be grown up, but in the end I gave in and they now live up in the loft.

At that age you are still a kid and there is no need for that, today you see kids that age walking around wearing makeup, I hardly ever wear it now and I’m fifteen years old. At the rate children are moving at they will be acting like an adult at five!

But then we get to around fourteen years old, and we realise we are teenagers, and we have a long way to go until we are adults and the things we worry about just aren’t important anymore. Then you start to think about how much fun it would be to get those dolls out, or to watch the kids channel, or to go wild on a bouncy castle because at fifteen years old I’m still a kid, and although I don’t do those thing, I don’t pretend to be something I’m not, I still try to be my age!

Friendship Groups

Most friendship groups contain the same groups of people; I’m not saying all groups are the same, but that if you look at your group you may be able to pick out these five different people. Not all groups need five people, as most people could fit into more than one of these categories.

The leader is the person in the group who is always part of the conversation. When they are talking everyone will listen, and they can often influence other members to do what they want. These are the people who are trusted with all of the secrets, and if they are a good person a group can work great together.

Most groups find they have an attention seeker. They aren’t all bad, but quite a few are. This person is the one who will over talk people if the conversation isn’t going their way, and sometimes even lie or put themselves in the middle of other people’s business in a bid to get some attention. What they do may be as little as just feeling the need to talk a lot, or as big as making up a story of something in their or others’ lives.

The peace makers work hard to make sure everyone gets on. Most groups will have at least a couple of people who often feel tension and it is the peacemaker who will often help resolve these issues and keep the peace. They are the nice calm people, and are normally really good friends with everyone in the group.

The crazy one is a great person to have in your group. They make all the jokes, pull in all of the laughs and are generally amazing people to be around. They may not make sense all of the time, but even when they don’t you can’t help but laugh.

The quiet one can hardly ever be heard talking. They may be shy and just sitting and listening, or they may have their iPod in and are on another planet, but either way they don’t say much, but the little things that they do say are always classic!

So look at your group and see if you can tell who is who!

When life gives you lemons... Make orange juice!

Some people are so predictable. When things happen they take the easy option, do what they think they should do and I don’t think people should.

Some people are followers, when there is a new fashion trend they will take to it straight away, and the problem with this is everyone ends up looking the same, being the same acting the same. The thing about that is when someone does step up and decide they don’t want to be like everyone else, that they want to be different then they are frowned upon, seen as weird and labelled.

We also have the leaders. These are the people who normally start the trends that everyone follows, and they end up acting over the top because in their minds, they are popular. This means they almost have a control over their followers, and quite often as their popularity rises they become more and more harsh with people, and putting down people who don’t live up to their standards.

This is the world we now live in, and I really don’t think it is fair on anyone. You see the leaders normally get the confidence to do what they do from an experience in life that has shown them that they have to stand up for themselves, something really hard. The followers then lose their individuality as they try to fit in with everyone else and the people who don’t conform are picked on and often feel really bad and down.

I’m not saying it’s easy, I fit in with all of these groups, I don’t follow the big trend with everyone else in my school but I do work hard to make sure I fit in with the group of people I hang around with, even though I don’t need to because everyone in my group is part of the individual people who don’t conform. I have had a few knocks in my life so I don’t let people put me down, and when I need to I will stand up for myself, even when I know it is mean and wrong.

The big difference is the people I hang around with don’t have expectations, and neither do I, I may work hard to fit in, but I don’t need to, and if everyone was like this, then everyone could maybe be happy. When everyone else is following trends do the unexpected. When everyone else is making lemonade, you should make orange juice.

Compromise

Sometimes in life we have to do things we don’t want to, but one thing we have to remember is not everything can benefit us all of the time. Sometimes when things go wrong and we have an argument with our friends we have to think that yes we are annoyed, and yes they have done something that has hurt us, but eventually we are going to have to forgive them, and if we can’t forgive them we are going to have to move on and find new friends. You might not want to lose your friend and you may feel like it’s hard to move on, but sometimes you have to accept when it’s not a proper friendship.

It’s the same when in a relationship. Sometimes when things go wrong and you have an argument you have to accept that you love them and that you are going to have to get past it, or you have to realise that things aren’t working out and you are going to have to end things, even if you are scared to, and if someone does the same thing to you, you have to accept that although things aren’t going your way, there isn’t anything you can do because you can’t force them to stay with you if they are unhappy. I’m not saying don’t fight for the one you love or try to work things out, but sometimes you have to accept that the person who means the most to you doesn’t feel the same, and it’s important to find someone who does

Finally there is family. When you have an argument with a family member you both have to respect each other and find a common ground, because unlike the other two, a friend or a life partner, you can’t choose your family. They are the people who are there for you when things go wrong with a friend or a partner, when you fall out with a friend, your family is there for you, when you break up with your first boyfriend, your parents are there for you, even when your forty years old and you break up with our husband, it’s your family who are there for you.

Remember you can’t always get your own way, and sometimes that’s the time when you show people you care about their feelings, when you compromise for them, and of course when things go wrong, your family is always there!
